Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) Admission Update: Exciting news for aspiring students looking to enroll in undergraduate programs at JNU! The university has officially launched its admission process for the Undergraduate (UG) and Certificate of Proficiency (COP) courses for the academic year 2026-27. Interested candidates can register online through the admission portal until July 22, providing a fantastic opportunity to join this esteemed institution.


This year, admissions to JNU's UG programs will rely on CUET-UG scores. The university offers a variety of bachelor's degrees, including BA (Honours) in Foreign Languages and BSc in Ayurveda Biology, along with several short-term certificate programs. These specialized courses are offered through the School of Language, Literature and Cultural Studies and the School of Sanskrit and Indic Studies.


No Interviews for Admission:
This year, JNU will not hold any oral examinations or viva-voce interviews for the BA (Honours), BSc (Honours), or COP programs. Selection will be based solely on a merit list derived entirely from CUET-UG scores. Given the limited number of seats and high competition, admissions will strictly adhere to merit-based criteria.


Eligibility Criteria:


For BA and BSc (Honours): Candidates must have completed Class 12 from a recognized board with at least 45% marks. Students currently taking the Class 12 exam or awaiting results are also eligible to apply.


For Certificate of Proficiency: A minimum of 45% marks in Class 12 is also required for this program.


Admission Process for B.Tech:
JNU is not only known for its language and arts programs but also offers engineering courses. Admission to the B.Tech program is based on JEE Main scores. The university adheres to the Government of India's reservation policy during the admission process, with the following seat allocation:


SC – 15%
ST – 7.5%
OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) – 27%
EWS Category – 10%
Persons with Disabilities – At least 5%
