JSSC Recruitment 2025: The Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) has unveiled its recruitment notification for the year 2025, targeting the roles of Assistant Jailor and Warder. This initiative aims to fill a total of 42 Assistant Jailor positions and 1,733 Warder roles across the state. Eligible candidates can submit their applications online from November 7, 2025, until December 8, 2025, via the official website, jssc.jharkhand.gov.in. Candidates will also have the opportunity to make necessary modifications to their applications between December 11 and 13.
Details of Vacancies
The recruitment for Warder positions includes a total of 1,733 vacancies. Out of these, 1,634 are allocated for male candidates, 165 for ex-servicemen, 413 for Home Guards, and the remaining 1,056 for other applicants. Additionally, there are 64 positions reserved for female candidates. The Assistant Jailor role comprises 42 vacancies.
Eligibility Criteria
Qualifications:
To qualify for the Assistant Jailor position, candidates must hold a bachelor's degree from a recognized institution. For the Warder role, the minimum educational requirement is a pass in the 10th grade.
Age Limit:
The age criteria are set as of August 1, 2025. General category candidates must be at least 21 years old and not exceed 35 years. For male candidates from Backward Classes and Extremely Backward Classes, the upper age limit is 37 years. Women from unreserved, backward, EWS, and backward classes can be up to 38 years old. Candidates from Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, both male and female, have a maximum age limit of 40 years.
Selection Process
Selection will be based on a written examination, a physical efficiency test, and a medical examination.
Physical Test Requirements:
Male candidates must complete a 1600-meter run in 6 minutes, while female candidates must finish the same distance in 10 minutes.
Height Criteria:
Male: Unreserved/EWS/Extremely Backward Category - Minimum height 160 cm, chest 81 cm; SC/ST - Minimum height 155 cm, chest 79 cm.
Female candidates - Minimum height 148 cm.
Written Examination Format:
The examination will consist of two phases: Preliminary and Main. It will feature objective multiple-choice questions, awarding 3 marks for each correct answer and deducting 1 mark for incorrect responses.
