In response to the Meteorological Department's warning of an impending heatwave and rising temperatures, the Jaipur District Administration has implemented precautionary measures. Mr. Sandesh Nayak, the District Collector and Chairman of the District Disaster Management Authority, has announced revised school timings for all government and private institutions in the district. This adjustment aims to safeguard young students from the extreme afternoon heat.

According to the Collector's directive, classes for pre-primary to Class 8 in all schools will now take place from 7:30 AM to 12:00 PM. These new timings will be effective starting April 27 and will remain in place until the end of the current academic year. Previously, students faced dismissal later in the day, exposing them to harsh sunlight and heat while returning home. This change is anticipated to offer considerable relief to numerous students and their families.

**Guidelines for Higher Classes and Exams**

The administration has specified that this timing adjustment is applicable only to students up to Class 8. Students in Classes 9 through 12 will continue with their existing schedules. Additionally, there will be no alterations to the timings for school staff or any ongoing board or local examinations. Students in higher grades must attend school at their regular times for both exams and classes.

**Consequences for Non-Compliance**

The District Collector has instructed all schools, both private and government, to comply with these new regulations. The order clearly states that any school found in violation of these guidelines will face strict legal repercussions under the Disaster Management Act of 2005. All Sub-Divisional Officers and Education Department officials have been tasked with ensuring adherence to these orders in their jurisdictions to protect children's health during this extreme heat.
