Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) has announced the recruitment of apprentices for its Bongaigaon Refinery. A total of 58 vacancies are available across three different trades for candidates holding a B.Sc. degree or a diploma. Eligibility Criteria

Trade Apprentice Attendant Operator (Chemical Plant), Discipline: Chemistry: Candidates must possess a 3-year B.Sc. degree with subjects including Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry (or Industrial Chemistry). The training duration is 12 months.

Trade Apprentice (Boiler), Discipline: Mechanical: A 3-year B.Sc. degree with Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry (or Industrial Chemistry) is required, with a training period of 24 months.

Technician Apprentice (Discipline: Instrumentation): Candidates should have a 3-year diploma in Instrumentation Engineering, Instrumentation & Electronics, Instrumentation & Control Engineering, or Applied Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering. The training duration is 12 months.

Apprenticeship Completion Requirements

Candidates who have previously completed an apprenticeship must have a gap of at least one year since its completion. This rule is waived if the previous apprenticeship was terminated due to the employer's fault.

For those who ended their contract for reasons such as health issues, financial difficulties, commuting challenges, career changes, or language barriers, a minimum gap of three months is necessary. Female candidates are exempt from this waiting period and must provide an affidavit in the format of 'Annexure-A' during document verification.

Age Limit

Candidates must be aged between 18 and 24 years as of September 30, 2026. The 10th-grade mark sheet or certificate will serve as proof of age.

• Certificate for converting CGPA/OGPA to percentage (if applicable)


• Certificate indicating the date of result declaration (if applicable)

• Printout of NATS/NAPS portal registration

Selection Process

The selection will not involve a written examination. Instead, it will be based on merit, calculated from the total marks obtained in the relevant qualification for the trade. A merit list will be created in descending order of marks, prioritizing candidates applying for an apprenticeship for the first time. In case of a tie, older candidates will be favored.

Candidates selected based on merit will be invited for document verification and a medical examination. An appointment offer will be made once the documents and medical fitness are confirmed.
