This is the remarkable story of Sreedhanya Suresh, a daughter from a humble Kuruchiya tribal family in Wayanad, Kerala. With parents working as daily wage laborers and lacking basic amenities, Sreedhanya's journey from such challenging beginnings to achieving her goals has made the entire nation proud.

Chasing Civil Service Dreams from a Remote Village

Sreedhanya's childhood was marked by significant struggles. To receive her primary education, she had to walk four kilometers daily. While working in the Tribal Development Department, she met an officer whose work ethic and the respect he commanded inspired her to serve the nation, prompting her to prepare for the UPSC exams.

Support from Friends Changed Her Destiny

After passing the written exam, Sreedhanya faced a major challenge: traveling to Delhi for her interview. Her family's financial situation was dire, making it impossible to afford train tickets and accommodation. At this critical juncture, her friends rallied together, raising around 40,000 rupees to help her reach Delhi for what would be the most significant interview of her life.

Hard Work Pays Off

Years of dedication finally bore fruit when the results of the IAS exam in 2019 transformed her life. Sreedhanya achieved an all-India rank of 410, earning the distinction of being Kerala's first tribal woman IAS officer. Interestingly, she later had the opportunity to work alongside the very officer who inspired her journey.

Beginning her career as an Assistant Collector, Sreedhanya has proven her administrative capabilities.
