Today marks a significant moment for youth aiming for government employment. Those wishing to secure a position in the Railways have a final opportunity to apply. The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has revealed that there are 22,195 Group D vacancies available, with the application deadline extended from March 2nd to March 9th. Candidates who have yet to apply can do so by visiting the official site, rrbapply.gov.in.
This recruitment initiative will fill a total of 22,195 roles across different railway zones nationwide. The distribution of positions includes:
- 3,148 in Western Railway, Mumbai
- 3,537 in Northern Railway, New Delhi
- 1,979 in Central Railway, Mumbai
- 1,036 in Southern Railway, Chennai
- 1,246 in North Eastern Railway, Gorakhpur
- 1,776 in Northeast Frontier Railway, Guwahati
Additionally, numerous positions will be available in other zones, providing ample job opportunities across the country.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates interested in applying must have completed their 10th grade from a recognized educational board. This is a fantastic opportunity for those who have just graduated from high school.
Age Requirements
The age criteria stipulate that applicants must be at least 18 years old and not exceed 33 years. Age calculations will be based on January 1, 2026. Relaxation in age limits will be provided for candidates belonging to reserved categories as per government regulations.
Application Fees
The application fee is set at ₹500 for candidates from General, OBC, and EWS categories, while SC and ST candidates will pay ₹250. Notably, General, OBC, and EWS candidates will receive a refund of ₹400 after completing the first stage of the examination, while SC and ST candidates will have their full fee refunded.
