7 Recruitment Notifications Issued in 2025
As stated by the Railway Minister,
In 2024, the Railways released 10 major recruitment notifications for 91,116 positions, with the selection process still ongoing.
In 2025, 7 additional notifications have been issued to fill 38,463 positions.
This brings the total recruitment target for FY 2024–25 to around 1.2 lakh vacancies.

From 2004–2014, the Railways employed 4.11 lakh individuals.
From 2014–2025, this figure increased to 5.08 lakh, showcasing a notable rise in job creation.
He noted that the implementation of a Railway Recruitment Calendar has enhanced transparency and predictability for job seekers.

In response to inquiries regarding contractual hiring, the Minister clarified:
Contractual roles are temporary.
These positions are established based on specific operational needs, and
They are terminated once the designated tasks are completed.
