The QS Global MBA Rankings for 2026 have been unveiled, showcasing IIM Bangalore as the top Indian institution, achieving a global rank of 52. Additionally, IIM Ahmedabad and IIM Calcutta have also secured spots within the top 100, highlighting the excellence of Indian management education.


Performance of Indian Institutions

IIM Bangalore achieved an impressive overall score of 70.2. The inclusion of IIM Ahmedabad and IIM Calcutta in the top 100 signifies a remarkable accomplishment for India, as these institutions are consistently recognized among the elite management schools worldwide.

Global Rankings Overview

On the global stage, the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania claimed the top position, followed by Stanford Graduate School of Business, Harvard Business School, and MIT Sloan, which ranked second, third, and fourth, respectively. QS noted that these institutions excelled in areas such as employability, return on investment (ROI), and thought leadership.


Other Indian Institutes in the Rankings

Several Indian management schools have made notable advancements outside the top 100. IIM Indore has improved its ranking, moving from the 201–250 range to the 151–200 band. However, IIM Kozhikode and IIM Udaipur have experienced declines compared to previous years.


Institutes with Declining Rankings

Woxsen School of Business has entered the 201–250 band for the first time, while IIFT Delhi debuted in the 301+ category this year. Other institutions, including XLRI Xavier School of Management, IMT Ghaziabad, IMI Kolkata, MDI Gurgaon, and Somaiya Vidyavihar University, have ranked lower this year, with many experiencing a drop from their previous standings.
