Himachal Pradesh Schools to Remain Open on Independence Day
Independence Day Celebrations in Himachal Pradesh Schools
In a unique move, all government schools in Himachal Pradesh will be operational on August 15, unlike many other states where schools typically close for Independence Day. The state government has mandated that educational institutions host flag-hoisting ceremonies, cultural events, and patriotic activities to commemorate the day, ensuring student attendance.
This directive was issued by the Directorate of School Education on Wednesday. The order specifically instructs all District Deputy Directors (both Primary and Higher) and principals of government senior secondary schools to celebrate Independence Day with dignity and enthusiasm.
Each government school is expected to conduct flag-hoisting ceremonies, cultural programs, and various patriotic activities. Additionally, the Directorate has tasked District Education Officers with providing necessary guidelines to schools within their districts, reinforcing that all government schools must remain open on this significant day.
The order highlights the importance of celebrating this national festival with fervor and discipline across all government educational institutions in Himachal Pradesh.
Independence Day School Closures in Other States
Will schools in other states also remain open?
Currently, only the Himachal Pradesh government has issued such an order; no other state has announced similar measures. It is important to note that schools are generally closed on Independence Day.
In related news, the 'India Association of Greater Boston' (IAGB), one of the oldest and largest Indian-American civic organizations in New England, has planned several community events to celebrate India's 79th Independence Day, scheduled for August.
