Applications for GATE 2026 are accepted exclusively online via the GOAPS (GATE Online Application Processing System) portal. Follow these steps to apply:


  1. Visit the official GATE 2026 website of IIT Guwahati.
  2. Click on the 'Registration' or 'New User' link.
  3. Register by providing your name (as per valid ID), email ID, mobile number, and password to receive an enrollment ID.
  4. Log in to the GOAPS portal using your enrollment ID and password.
  5. Fill in all required personal, educational, and communication details in the application form.
  6. Select the GATE paper and up to three preferred exam centers, ensuring the first two are in the same zone.
  7. Upload scanned copies of your latest passport-size photograph and signature in the specified format and size.
  8. Upload a valid photo ID proof and any required category certificate.
  9. Pay the application fee, including the late fee, online.
  10. Review all details before final submission.
  11. Print the submitted form for future reference.
