Introduction to NCERT's Physics Course

NCERT Physics Course for 12th Students: Many learners struggle with physics concepts and often look for an instructor who can simplify the material. If you are a 12th-grade student enrolled in physics, this announcement is particularly beneficial for you. The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has introduced an online physics course.

Enrollment Information

When can you enroll?

This course is accessible on the SWAYAM platform, offered at no cost, and aims to facilitate easy understanding of concepts. The enrollment deadline is set for September 1, 2025.

Unique Features of the Course

Why is this course special?

Physics can be daunting for many students; however, with the right teaching approach, it can become an engaging subject. This course incorporates lectures, electronic texts, practice questions, assignments, and animations to help bridge learning gaps and relate concepts to real-world scenarios.

Course Structure

The course is divided into two parts.

This 24-week online physics course from NCERT is designed to assist students in their studies while enhancing their understanding through practical examples and assignments. The course is split into two segments: Courses 3 and 4, encompassing a total of 10 units delivered through 43 modules. Each module contains study materials, notes, and a final assessment.

Course 3 Content

What will be taught in Course 3?

Course 3 includes the first five units of physics, covering topics such as electrostatics, current electricity, magnetism, electromagnetic induction, and electromagnetic waves. Key concepts like charge, electric field, Gauss's law, drift velocity, Kirchhoff's laws, Biot-Savart's law, transformers, and Maxwell's equations will be thoroughly explored.

Additionally, students will clarify concepts related to resistivity, electrical energy and power, cyclotron, earth's magnetism, galvanometer, Lenz's law, eddy currents, AC circuits, power transmission, spectrum, and their applications.

Course 04 Content

What topics will be covered in Course 04?

Course 04 encompasses units 6 to 10, addressing Optics, Dual Nature of Radiation and Matter, Atoms and Nuclei, Electronic Devices, and Communication Systems. This section covers properties of light, the photoelectric effect, Bohr's theory, semiconductors, transistors, and modern communication.

Essential concepts such as Einstein's equation, de-Broglie waves, atomic models, radioactivity, nuclear energy, diodes, transistors, amplifiers, digital electronics, modulation, and wave propagation will be discussed in detail.
