Job Opportunities in DRDO After 12th Grade


There are several direct employment opportunities available in DRDO for those who have completed their 12th grade. These positions, known as admin and allied roles, involve clerical and logistical support tasks within DRDO offices. Available positions include Administrative Assistant A, Store Assistant A, Security Assistant A, Vehicle Operator A, Fire Engine Driver, and Fireman. A minimum of 12th-grade education is required for these roles, and certain positions may also necessitate typing skills or a valid driving license.


Technician Positions Require ITI or Diploma


Candidates who have completed an ITI or any diploma after 10th or 12th grade can apply for the 'Technician A' position. To qualify, applicants must have completed 10th grade and possess a certificate in trades such as fitter, electrician, or welder from a recognized ITI. Additionally, those with a diploma in engineering or a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) can apply for the 'Senior Technical Assistant B' (STA-B) role.


Becoming a Scientist at DRDO


If your ambition is to become a scientist at DRDO, early preparation is essential. Follow these steps to achieve your goal:


1. Choose PCM in 11th-12th: It is crucial to study Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) during your 11th and 12th grades.


2. Pursue B.E./B.Tech or B.Sc.: After 12th grade, you should complete a graduation degree (B.Sc.) in Engineering (Mechanical, Computer Science, Electrical, Aerospace) or in Science.


3. GATE Exam: Post-graduation, you must clear the GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) exam. High scorers in this exam are shortlisted for the 'Scientist B' position, with recruitment managed by the Recruitment and Assessment Center (RAC).


Selection Process


Recruitment for Technician A, Senior Technical Assistant B, and Admin and Allied positions is conducted through the CEPTAM (Centre for Personnel Talent Management) exam. This includes a computer-based test (CBT), and some roles may require skill and physical tests. The age limits for applicants are as follows: 18-28 years for Technician A/STA-B, 18-27 years for Admin and Allied roles, and up to 28 years for Scientist B.
