Eligibility Criteria and Age Limit

What are the eligibility criteria and age limit?
To qualify, candidates must have completed their 12th grade (Intermediate) from a recognized board. The age requirements are as follows:



  • Men: 18 to 25 years (age calculated as of July 1, 2025)

  • Women: 18 to 28 years

  • SC/ST/OBC candidates receive a 5-year age relaxation, with an additional 3-year relaxation for all categories this time.

  • In case of a tie in marks, preference will be given to older candidates, those holding an NCC 'B' certificate, or those with 2 years of service in the Territorial Army.


It is anticipated that over 40 lakh applications will be submitted for this recruitment.


Physical Standards Requirements

What are the Physical Standards?


For Men:
– General/OBC/SC: Minimum height of 168 cm, Chest 79 cm (unexpanded) and 84 cm (expanded).
– ST: Minimum height of 160 cm, Chest 77 cm (unexpanded) and 82 cm (expanded).


For Women:
– General/OBC/SC: Minimum height of 152 cm.
– ST: Minimum height of 147 cm.
– Minimum weight of 40 kg.


Selection Process and Exam Pattern

The selection will consist of the following stages:



  1. Written Examination

  2. Physical Standards Test (PST) and Document Verification

  3. Physical Efficiency Test (PET - Running)


Written Examination:
– Total of 300 marks, comprising 150 objective questions.
– Subjects include General Knowledge, General Hindi, Numerical and Mental Ability, Mental Aptitude, and Intelligence Quotient.
– Duration: 2 hours.
– No negative marking.
– Minimum passing marks: Reserved 30%, EWS/OBC 25%, SC/ST 20%.


Physical Test (Running):
– Men: 4.8 km run in 25 minutes.
– Women: 2.4 km run in 14 minutes.
