A significant recruitment opportunity has emerged for female nursing candidates at HPRCA. The Himachal Pradesh State Selection Commission (HPSSC) in Hamirpur has announced the hiring of 312 Assistant Staff Nurses for the Department of Medical Education and Research. This recruitment will be on a five-year contract basis. The online application window opens on July 30, 2026, at 10:00 AM, and will close on August 29 at 11:59 PM. Eligibility Criteria

This recruitment is exclusively for female candidates. Applicants must hold a B.Sc. Nursing or GNM degree from an accredited institution with at least 50% marks. Furthermore, registration with the Himachal Pradesh Nurses Registration Council (HPNRC) in Shimla is essential. Candidates must be bona fide residents of Himachal Pradesh; those who are not must have completed their 10th and 12th grades from institutions within the state.

Age Limit and Selection Process

The age of applicants will be calculated as of January 1, 2026. The minimum age to apply is 21 years, while the maximum age is set at 45 years. Relaxations in the upper age limit will be provided to SC, ST, OBC, PwD, and other eligible reserved categories as per state government regulations. The selection process will begin with a Computer-Based Test (CBT) or an OMR-based screening test, consisting of 120 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) to be completed in 90 minutes, with each question worth one mark. Candidates who pass the written exam will proceed to document verification, followed by the creation of a final merit list.

Salary and Application Fee

Selected candidates will be engaged for five years, receiving a fixed monthly salary of ₹25,000. All applicants must pay an application fee of ₹800, which includes an examination fee of ₹100 and a processing fee of ₹700. If any corrections are needed during the application correction window, an additional fee of ₹100 will apply.
