Job Opportunity at the Supreme Court



The Supreme Court of India is offering a chance to apply for 250 temporary positions as Junior Court Assistants. Eligible candidates will receive a starting salary of ₹35,400, which corresponds to Level-6 of the pay matrix, along with additional allowances. Applicants must possess a graduation degree from a recognized institution in India and have proficiency in computer operations, including a typing speed of at least 35 words per minute in English.


Eligibility Criteria

**Age Requirements**


Candidates must be between 18 and 30 years old as of September 1, 2026. Age relaxation is available for Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC - Non-Creamy Layer), Persons with Disabilities (PwD), and Ex-servicemen, in line with Central Government regulations. Additionally, dependents of freedom fighters may receive up to five years of extra age relaxation.


Selection Process Overview

**Four-Stage Selection Process**


The selection will occur in four phases: an objective-type test, a computer typing test, a descriptive written test, and an interview.


Details of the Objective-Type Test

**Objective-Type Test**


This test will be worth 100 marks and will assess candidates on General English, General Aptitude, General Knowledge, judicial provisions in the Constitution of India, Supreme Court Rules (2013), and computer knowledge. Candidates will have 90 minutes to complete the test, with a minimum qualifying score of 50.


Typing and Descriptive Tests

**Typing Test**


This 10-minute test requires candidates to type at least 35 words per minute and is worth 50 marks, with a minimum score of 25 needed to pass.


**Descriptive Test**


This test will last two hours and will include comprehension, précis writing, and essay writing, totaling 100 marks, with a minimum qualifying score of 50.


Final Interview Stage

The interview stage is worth 25 marks, and candidates must achieve at least 13 marks to qualify.


Application Fee Details

**Application Fee**


The fee for applicants from General and Unreserved categories is ₹1,500, while SC, ST, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), Ex-servicemen, and PwD candidates need to pay ₹750. Additional bank charges may apply. Payments must be made online through the UCO Bank payment gateway, and the application fee is non-refundable.
