Career Opportunities at DRDO

For young individuals aspiring to build a career in the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO), there is significant news. DRDO has initiated recruitment for Junior Research Fellows, featuring a direct walk-in interview process without any examination. These interviews are set to commence in the first week of August, and an official notice has been released regarding this opportunity. It is important to note that DRDO plays a crucial role in strengthening India's three armed forces.


Research and Development Focus

DRDO conducts research and development activities across more than 50 laboratories. This particular vacancy is associated with the Scientific Group Analysis in collaboration with DRDO's sister labs. Candidates will be selected for a two-year position in the field of cryptology.


Eligibility Criteria

Qualifications Required


Applicants must hold a postgraduate degree in Mathematics with a first division and should have qualified the NET examination.


Additionally, candidates with a first division in Computer Science Engineering (CSE), Information Technology (IT), or Computer Science (CS) must possess a valid NET/GATE scorecard along with a BE/BTech degree. Alternatively, candidates with an ME/MTech in the relevant field are also eligible, provided they have passed at both graduate and postgraduate levels with first division.


For those with a degree in Electrical Engineering (EE) or Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), a first division pass along with a BE/BTech degree is mandatory, and a valid NET/GATE score is also required. Candidates with an ME/MTech qualification can also apply.


Moreover, candidates must have a postgraduate degree in Physics and should have qualified the NET examination.


Age Limit

Age Requirements


Candidates must be a maximum of 28 years old as of the date of the walk-in interview. However, age relaxation will be provided to candidates from reserved categories as per regulations.

Stipend Details

Monthly Stipend


Eligible candidates selected through the walk-in interview will receive a monthly stipend of ₹37,000, along with medical benefits, housing rent, and additional perks throughout the research duration.

How to Apply


Candidates interested in participating in the walk-in interview must first download the application form format.


The form should include personal details such as full name, father's/husband's name, gender, marital status, age, mobile number, permanent address, email ID, and information regarding SC/ST/OBC status, followed by experience and qualification details.


Applicants must bring their completed form along with their resume to the interview.


Information can be sent via email to saghr.sag@gov.in. Candidates should also carry original documents including birth certificate, mark sheets, caste certificate, two passport-sized photographs, valid photo ID proof, and address proof for verification. There is no application fee.


Interview candidates should arrive at the MET Gate Reception, Metcalfe House, Delhi-110054, between 9 AM and 11 AM on the interview date.
