National Law University Launches Online Course
The National Law University, Delhi (NLUD) is set to host its fifth online certificate course focused on Consumer Law and Practice on October 11th and 12th. This initiative is in partnership with the Department of Consumer Affairs under the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Government of India.
This course aims to explore contemporary issues in consumer protection within India. It will specifically address updates made under the Consumer Protection Act of 2019 and evaluate its current implementation. Key subjects will include product liability, mediation, and challenges posed by the digital economy, such as misleading advertisements, algorithmic bias, and fake reviews, along with the regulators' role in safeguarding consumer rights.
Eligibility Criteria
The course is open to a diverse group of participants, including faculty members, researchers, legal professionals, graduate and postgraduate students, consumer rights advocates, NGOs, and voluntary consumer organizations (VCOs).
Registration Details and Fees
The registration fee is set at ₹2,000 and is non-refundable. Due to limited seating, participants will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Upon completion of the course, participants will receive a certificate signed by the NLUD President. To register, candidates must pay the fee and submit a screenshot through a Google Form.
