In Rajasthan, the holiday period, initially set to begin on October 16, 2025, has now been moved up to October 13, 2025.


Moreover, states like Uttar Pradesh and Bihar have also declared multiple days off for schools during Diwali. Consequently, children and parents have already begun preparations to spend quality time with family during the festivities.


Schools Closed in Rajasthan

The Director of Secondary Education, Sitaram Jat, has issued a revised order confirming that while the holidays will start earlier, the total duration will remain unchanged. Students will enjoy a 12-day break, which includes a Sunday on October 12.


School Closures for Diwali and Chhath Puja in Bihar

According to the official holiday calendar in Bihar, schools will be closed from October 20 to October 29, 2025, encompassing both Diwali and Chhath Puja.


School Holidays in Uttar Pradesh

In Uttar Pradesh, the holiday schedule includes breaks on October 20, 22, and 23 for Diwali, Govardhan Puja, and Bhai Dooj, respectively. With October 19 falling on a Sunday, students will have a four-day holiday for Diwali.


Karnataka School Holidays

In Karnataka, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced holidays for government and aided schools from October 8 to October 18 to facilitate the completion of the state's 'caste survey.'
