Introduction to the 'Shaktishree' App

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Higher Education department has recently urged all state-funded and supported universities and colleges to maximize student engagement with the newly launched 'Shaktishree' app, which is designed to enhance student safety, address grievances, and provide counseling services.

This mobile application was introduced by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi to foster a safer and more responsive educational environment for students in Odisha.

The app serves as a comprehensive digital support system, featuring various tools aimed at students, such as SOS alerts, safety check-ins, counseling resources, grievance resolution, institutional notifications, and emergency assistance.

An official highlighted that the primary goal of the app is to enhance communication and provide timely help to students who require it.

In a communication directed to registrars and principals, the higher education department noted that students can sign up for the app using their SMAS ID along with their registered mobile number.

It was emphasized that all students enrolled in higher education institutions under the department's jurisdiction are eligible to utilize this application.

Institutions have been encouraged to promote awareness among students through various channels, including notices, orientation sessions, classroom discussions, WhatsApp groups, and other effective methods to facilitate the download and registration process.
