NEET UG 2026 Paper Leak Controversy

NEET UG 2026 Paper Leak: A significant controversy has emerged surrounding India's largest medical entrance examination, NEET UG. Shivraj Raghunath Motegaonkar, a well-known chemistry teacher from Latur, Maharashtra, who is affectionately referred to as 'M Sir' by his students, has now come under the scrutiny of investigative agencies.

Interestingly, this same teacher had previously stood up for students in 2024 against the NEET paper leak, taking the matter to court. However, following allegations of his involvement in the 2026 paper leak case, his arrest has sent shockwaves through the education community.

Fighting for Students in 2024

In 2024, when serious allegations of a paper leak for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET UG) sparked nationwide protests, Shivraj Raghunath Motegaonkar emerged as a defender for students. The chemistry teacher from Latur filed a petition on behalf of the students, claiming that they were subjected to severe injustice.

Video Surfaces

Two years later, M Sir finds himself among those arrested for alleged involvement in the 2026 NEET UG paper leak. A video from 2024 has resurfaced, showing him advocating for students and demanding justice.

In a video message recorded from a car, M Sir addresses students directly, informing them that he has filed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in the Aurangabad bench of the High Court in Sambhajinagar.

'Severe Injustice to Students'

He stated, 'Additionally, we have filed a separate petition on behalf of the students, as there was indeed a significant scam in NEET 2024. This scam will primarily affect students pursuing education in Maharashtra. Today, we have arrived in Mumbai. We will gather all necessary information at the Bombay High Court. Our intention is to meet with representatives from all major news channels in Maharashtra. Their cooperation is crucial, as this needs to transform into a public movement. We will appeal to them and emphasize that severe injustice is being done to students, making their participation in this matter extremely necessary. That's all I want to say.'

'M Sir' Arrested: The Reasons
