Next Steps for Candidates

What is the next step?

The most significant challenge awaits candidates as they must undergo the SSB, a demanding five-day interview process that evaluates them comprehensively before final results are announced. Candidates who chose the Army as their first preference are required to register on the 'Join Indian Army' website (joinindianarmy.nic.in) to receive updates regarding their interview. Marksheets will be accessible on the website approximately 15 days after the final results for the SSB interview and the OTA (Officers Training Academy) course are declared.

Training at the Indian Military Academy

Direct training at the IMA:

Candidates who succeed will receive training directly at the Indian Military Academy (IMA) located in Dehradun. After completing the intensive training at the IMA, they will have the opportunity to serve as officers in the Indian Army. Each year, numerous young individuals apply for this examination, but only a select few are granted the opportunity to attend the IMA. Those who pass will enter the Army as Lieutenants and can eventually rise to the rank of Captain.
