The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has recently announced an extension for students seeking scanned copies of their answer sheets. The new deadline is today, May 24, 2026.


For students who took the CBSE Class 12 Board Exams in 2026 and are unhappy with their results, this is a crucial moment. Today is the last chance to apply for re-evaluation. The CBSE has provided significant relief by extending the deadline for obtaining scanned copies of answer sheets.

In recent days, many students encountered challenges while submitting their applications due to heavy traffic and technical issues on the CBSE website. The site often failed to load, and there were reports of problems with fee payments. Recognizing these challenges, the Board has granted an additional day for applications, allowing students to review their evaluations or seek re-evaluation if they believe their marks are unsatisfactory.


Reason for Deadline Extension


CBSE explained in an official notice that the website experienced a surge in traffic, which overwhelmed the servers. Additionally, there were technical difficulties due to unauthorized access attempts. As a result, many students could not submit their applications on time. The final application deadline has been extended from May 23 to May 24, 2026.

Final Application Window


Students can now apply for scanned copies of their answer sheets until May 24, 2026. This extension is the last opportunity for those who have not yet submitted their applications.


Additional Time for Re-evaluation


The Board has stated that students who receive their scanned copies will have an extra two days to apply for verification and re-evaluation. This allows students to thoroughly review their answer sheets to understand where marks may have been deducted.


CBSE Schedule Overview


The CBSE has outlined a timeline for students who participated in the 2026 Class 12 Board Exams. Applications for scanned copies can be submitted until May 24, 2026. Following this, verification and re-evaluation processes will begin on May 25, 2026. Students who suspect errors in their marks or believe their answer sheets require further examination can apply for re-evaluation until May 29, 2026. The Board advises students to adhere to these deadlines to avoid complications.

Numerous students reported issues with fluctuating fees displayed on the website, with amounts varying from ₹1 to ₹8,000 per subject. Some also received blurred or illegible scanned copies. Additionally, many faced login issues and problems with payment transactions.

  2. Log in using your Roll Number, School Number, and other required information.


  3. Select the ‘Answer Book Scan Copy’ or ‘Verification/Re-evaluation’ option.


  4. Choose the relevant subject and complete the application form.


  5. Make the payment online.


  6. After submission, download the receipt and keep it for your records.
