CBSE Board Exams 2026 Postponed in West Asia Amid Tensions

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has postponed the Class 10 and 12 board exams scheduled for March 5th and 6th in seven West Asian countries due to ongoing tensions between Iran and Israel. The board prioritizes student safety and will announce new exam dates later. Students are advised to stay in touch with their schools for updates. This decision follows a previous postponement of the March 3rd exam. The situation will be reassessed on March 5, 2026, to determine the status of subsequent exams.

CBSE Exam 2026 Update: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the postponement of board examinations in seven countries in West Asia due to escalating tensions between Iran and Israel. The Class 10 and 12 exams, originally set for March 5th and 6th in these regions, including the United Arab Emirates (UAE), have been rescheduled. This follows the earlier postponement of the March 3rd exam due to security issues.


In an official statement, the board emphasized that the safety of students is paramount, making it unsuitable to hold exams in the current climate. New dates for the examinations will be communicated in due course.

The notice issued by the board states, "The Central Board of Secondary Education, after assessing the ongoing situation in several Middle Eastern nations - Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates, in reference to the circular dated 01.03.2026, has decided to postpone the Class 10 and 12 examinations scheduled for March 05 and 06, 2026. The revised exam dates will be announced later."


The Board plans to reassess the situation on March 05, 2026, to determine the status of exams scheduled from March 07 onward. Students are encouraged to maintain communication with their schools and stay updated with official announcements.
