The Cabinet Secretariat is looking to fill a total of 250 roles across various engineering fields, including computer science, electronics, physics, and chemistry. The majority of the available positions are in the fields of computer science and information technology. Additional roles are open for candidates specializing in data science, artificial intelligence, electronics, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, and other related disciplines. The breakdown of positions is as follows: 124 in Computer Science and IT, 10 in Data Science and AI, 95 in Electronics and Telecommunications, 4 in Civil and Mechanical Engineering, and 19 in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Statistics, and Geology.

To qualify for these roles, applicants must possess a BE or BTech degree or an MSc in the relevant field. Furthermore, candidates should have taken the GATE exams in 2023, 2024, or 2025.

Selection will be merit-based, relying on GATE scores and interview results. A strong performance in the GATE exam will significantly enhance candidates' chances of being selected.

The upper age limit for applicants is set at 30 years. However, candidates from SC, ST, OBC backgrounds, as well as government employees and ex-servicemen, are entitled to age relaxation in accordance with government policies.
