The Bihar Technical Service Commission (BTSC) has unveiled a recruitment notification for 2809 Junior Engineer roles across various state departments. This recruitment drive is open for candidates specializing in Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical engineering. Applications can be submitted online until January 12, 2026.

Available Positions

The BTSC notification reveals that the majority of vacancies are for Junior Engineer (Civil) roles, totaling 2653 positions. These roles will be filled in several departments, including the Water Resources Department, Urban Development and Housing Department, Rural Works Department, Building Construction Department, Road Construction Department, Public Health Engineering Department, Minor Water Resources Department, and Animal and Fisheries Resources Department. Notably, 1306 positions are allocated for candidates from the general category within the Civil Engineering sector.

Eligibility Requirements

Candidates applying for Civil Engineer positions must possess a three-year diploma in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution. For Mechanical roles, a diploma in Mechanical Engineering is essential, while Electrical positions require a diploma in Electrical Engineering.

Salary Details

Reservation benefits are applicable only to Bihar residents, whereas candidates from other states will be considered under the unreserved category. Selected candidates can expect a competitive salary ranging from ₹44,900 to ₹1,42,400 per month. The age criteria stipulate a minimum age of 18 years and a maximum of 37 years, with age relaxation available for reserved categories as per regulations. Selection will be determined through a written examination and relevant work experience.
