Bihar Teacher Recruitment Overview

Exciting developments have emerged regarding teacher recruitment in Bihar, specifically for the BPSC TRE 4.0. As per the announcement made by Satya Prakash Sharma, the Secretary of the Bihar Public Service Commission, there are plans to fill 46,000 vacant teaching positions. A formal notification regarding this recruitment will be released shortly, with the application process set to commence in March 2026.

Details of the Recruitment

The requisitions indicate a need for 44,500 teachers across various classes, including 1 to 5, 6 to 8, 9 to 10, and 11 to 12, in schools managed by the Education Department.

Additionally, there will be appointments for teachers and headmasters in classes 1 to 5, 5 to 10, and 11 to 12 within schools operated by the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Welfare Department, accounting for 1,500 vacancies. This brings the total number of available positions to over 46,000.

Implementation of the One Candidate, One Result Rule

In previous recruitment phases (TRE-1, TRE-2, and TRE-3), a single candidate could secure positions across all three educational levels: primary, middle, and secondary. This led to multiple allocations for one candidate, leaving many qualified individuals without opportunities. To rectify this, the upcoming TRE-4 will enforce the One Candidate, One Result rule. A 35% reservation for women will still be upheld, but this rule will apply to them as well.

To date, the BPSC has completed three recruitment phases: TRE-1 addressed 1.70 lakh posts, TRE-2 focused on 70,000 teaching roles, and TRE-3 covered 87,774 positions, with 66,603 successfully filled.
