The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has officially declared the commencement date for the application process for the Secondary Teacher Eligibility Test (STET) 2026. As per the announcement from the Board's Chairman, Dr. Tyagarajan SM, the application window will open on August 17, 2026. A comprehensive schedule for the examination will be provided separately by the Board.

Purpose of the STET Exam

The STET exam is designed to assess the eligibility of candidates for teaching roles in secondary schools (Classes 9 and 10) and higher secondary schools (Classes 11 and 12).

Exam Format for Bihar STET

The Bihar STET will be administered as an online Computer-Based Test (CBT). All questions will be in the form of Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs). The exam is structured into two segments: Paper-1 and Paper-2. Paper-1 is for Classes 9 and 10, while Paper-2 caters to Classes 11 and 12.

This two-and-a-half-hour examination will feature questions totaling 150 marks. Out of these, 100 marks will focus on the core subject, while 50 marks will assess teaching aptitude and related competencies.
