The Bihar Staff Selection Commission (BSSC) has announced a significant increase in job vacancies for the CGL-4 and Office Attendant Recruitment 2025, offering greater opportunities for candidates. The number of positions available for various CGL-4 roles has been raised, and the addition of over a thousand vacancies for Office Attendant roles has sparked excitement among job seekers. Details of Increased Vacancies
The BSSC has expanded the number of available positions in both the CGL-4 and Office Attendant Recruitment for 2025. Specifically, the total vacancies for CGL-4 have risen from 1,541 to 1,883. Additionally, the Assistant Branch Officer roles have seen an increase from 1,064 to 1,406, marking a rise of 342 positions. In the Office Attendant category, the vacancies have grown from 4,388 to 5,131. The deadline for online applications is set for November 21, 2025, while the final date for submitting completed forms is November 24, 2025.
Eligibility Criteria and Age Limits
For the CGL-4 recruitment, candidates are required to possess a bachelor's degree from a recognized institution. The age limit for applicants in the general category is between 18 and 37 years. There are relaxations available: three years for unreserved women and OBC candidates, and five years for SC/ST candidates.
For the Office Attendant positions, candidates must have completed matriculation. The maximum age limit is 37 years for the general category, 40 years for OBC/OBC women, and 42 years for SC/ST candidates.
Exam Pattern Overview
Should the number of applications exceed 40,000, a preliminary examination will be conducted. Candidates will be shortlisted for the main examination based on a ratio of five applicants for each vacancy. A detailed notification regarding this will be released separately.
Selection Process Explained
The preliminary examination will consist of 150 questions covering General Studies, General Science, Mathematics, and Mental Ability. Each question will be valued at four marks, with a penalty of one mark for incorrect answers. The exam duration will be 2 hours and 15 minutes, and questions will be available in both Hindi and English. In case of discrepancies, the English version will prevail. Candidates are prohibited from bringing notes, electronic devices, or guidebooks to the examination venue.
