Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) Updates: The BPSC has released two significant announcements regarding upcoming competitive exams. These exams are for the roles of Special School Teacher within the Bihar Education Department and District Sports Officer along with other positions in the Sports Department, both set for January 2026. A comprehensive schedule for these recruitments will be provided shortly.


Scheduled Exam Dates

As per the announcement, the examination for the Special School Teacher role is slated for January 29, 2026. Concurrently, the exams for District Sports Officer, Assistant Director (Sports/Youth), and Lecturer positions are expected to take place on January 29 and 30, 2026.


Selection Process for Special School Teacher Recruitment 2025

BPSC plans to fill a total of 7,279 vacancies through the Special School Teacher Recruitment 2025. This includes 5,534 positions for classes 1 to 5 and 1,745 for classes 6 to 8. This recruitment presents a valuable opportunity for individuals aspiring to teach in special schools across Bihar.


The selection will occur in three phases: first, a written examination; second, a merit list based on the exam results; and finally, an interview. The final selection will consider candidates' educational backgrounds, subject expertise, and interview performance.


BSS Recruitment 2025: Selection Process and Position Breakdown

The recruitment for District Sports Officer, Assistant Director (Sports/Youth), and Lecturer roles will also follow a three-stage process. The initial stage will consist of a Hindi language test along with two MCQ-based papers. The second stage will evaluate candidates' sports achievement certificates, graduation credentials, and scores from sports coaching courses. The final stage will be an interview, which will determine the final selection.


This recruitment encompasses a total of 33 positions, including 13 for the unreserved category, 3 for the Economically Weaker Section (EWS), 5 for Scheduled Castes (SC), 1 for Scheduled Tribes (ST), 6 for the Extremely Backward Class (EBC), 4 for the Backward Class (BC), and 1 for Backward Class Women.
