BPSC 71st CCE Mains Exam Schedule



Exam Date Announcement: The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has revealed the tentative schedule for the main examination of the 71st Combined Competitive Examination. The main exam is set to take place from April 25 to April 30, 2026.


The commission will release a detailed timetable for the examination in due course. Candidates who successfully passed the 71st Combined (Preliminary) Competitive Examination are eligible to participate in the main examination.


Structure of the BPSC Main Examination

Exam Format:
The BPSC 71st main examination comprises five papers: the first paper is General Hindi, followed by two General Studies papers (Paper-1 and Paper-2), an Essay paper, and a paper on the optional subject selected by the candidate. Each paper is allotted three hours, with the entire examination totaling 1100 marks.


Preliminary Examination Overview

Preliminary Exam Details:
The preliminary examination took place on September 13, with 4,71,012 candidates applying. Out of these, 3,16,762 candidates participated in the exam, which was conducted across 912 centers in 37 districts.


Results of the Preliminary Examination

Qualified Candidates:
A total of 14,261 candidates successfully cleared the preliminary examination. Among them, 13,368 candidates qualified for the general examination, while 893 candidates passed the preliminary exam for the Financial Administrative Officer position. All successful candidates are now required to take the main examination as the next step in the recruitment process.


This recruitment initiative aims to fill 1298 positions. Initially, there were 1250 vacancies, but an amendment to the advertisement has added 34 new posts, raising the total to 1298.
