Bihar Public Service Commission Announces 71st Preliminary Exam Results

The Bihar Public Service Commission has announced the results of the 71st Preliminary Examination, with over 14,000 candidates qualifying. The cut-off scores for various categories have been released, and details about the upcoming main examination have been provided. Overview of the 71st Preliminary Examination Results



The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has officially announced the results for the 71st Preliminary Examination, revealing that 13,368 candidates successfully passed. Furthermore, an additional 893 candidates qualified for the role of Financial Administrative Officer, resulting in a total of 14,261 successful candidates.


Examination Statistics

According to BPSC Examination Controller Rajesh Kumar Singh, around 4.71 lakh candidates registered for the examination. Out of these, approximately 3.57 lakh candidates downloaded their admit cards, and about 3.16 lakh candidates actually took the exam. The examination was held at 912 centers across Bihar, with a participation rate of 64.3%. Following these results, recruitment will proceed for 1,298 available positions.

Upcoming Main Examination Details

Following the announcement of the preliminary results, the main examination is set to take place, although the specific date has yet to be confirmed. The main examination will consist of three subjects, including a language paper (General Hindi) worth 100 marks, which is mandatory but will not contribute to the final score. Candidates must secure at least 30 marks in this paper for their other papers to be evaluated.


The second and third papers will focus on General Studies (GS 1 and GS 2), each carrying 300 marks, and will consist of long-answer questions. The final paper will be an Optional Subject, also worth 300 marks and featuring long-answer questions. Each subject examination will last for three hours.
