Bihar Police Recruitment: Over 15,000 Contract Positions Available

Residents of Bihar have received promising news as the government is set to initiate the recruitment of over 15,000 special assistant police positions on a contract basis. According to reports, the recruitment process will commence on June 1. Notably, this recruitment will also provide opportunities for retired personnel from central armed police forces for the first time.
Recruitment Process Details
The Bihar Police Headquarters has designated the Army Employment Welfare Organization in Danapur Cantt as the nodal unit for this recruitment. A calendar for the recruitment process has also been released. Recruitment rallies will be held in the Danapur Cantt area from June 1 to June 6, where retired military and paramilitary personnel can participate. These rallies will take place from 6:30 AM to 4 PM.
Important Guidelines for Applicants
An advertisement has been issued by the police headquarters for this recruitment, stating that only permanent residents of the state can apply. Applicants must bring proof of residence with them.
As with other recruitments, the government’s reservation policies will be adhered to. While no physical tests will be conducted, a medical examination will be required. According to the advertisement, applicants must have knowledge of using small and updated firearms. Additionally, those with experience in bomb detection, driving, swimming, and diving will be given preference.
Scheduled Rally Dates for Each Division
To ensure that applicants from all parts of Bihar can participate, separate rally dates have been scheduled for different divisions. The rallies will be held as follows: on June 1 in Purnia, Bhagalpur, and Darbhanga; on June 2 in Kosi, Munger, and Saran; on June 3 in Tirhut; on June 4 in Magadh; on June 5 in Patna and Nalanda; and on June 6 in Bhojpur, Bhabhua, Rohtas, and Buxar.
The recruitment drive will fill 15,821 positions, including 148 for JCOs, 15,135 for SAP personnel, and 538 for cooks. Each position has a different remuneration, with JCOs earning ₹35,000, SAP personnel ₹30,000, and cooks ₹25,000. Additional benefits provided by the government will also be available, and contracts may be extended as needed.
