Bihar Government to Recruit Over 4,000 Librarians After 14 Years

The Bihar State Government Cabinet has recently approved the recruitment process for librarian roles, which is anticipated to commence shortly. The Ministry of Education has instructed the Finance Department to finalize the salary structure for these positions. Following this, an official recruitment notification is expected to be released next month, in December. Reports indicate that the state plans to fill more than 4,000 librarian vacancies.
First Recruitment in 14 Years
It is important to highlight that the last recruitment for librarian roles (Bihar Librarian Recruitment 2025) occurred in 2011-12, making this the first opportunity in 14 years to fill these positions.
Qualifications Required for Librarian Roles
Candidates interested in applying for librarian positions must possess a bachelor's degree in library science with a minimum of 45% marks. There is a 5% relaxation for candidates from reserved categories, women, and disabled individuals, allowing them to qualify with 40% marks. Additionally, candidates must have successfully passed the eligibility test.
Age Requirements
Applicants must be at least 21 years old to be eligible for this recruitment. The new regulations allow for a maximum age relaxation of 10 years. Furthermore, 35% of the total positions will be reserved for women.
