Students enrolled in graduation programs at universities and affiliated colleges will have access to internships, which will offer a monthly stipend of ₹12,300. Vijay Kumar Sinha, the current Cabinet Minister and former Deputy Chief Minister, has announced the details of this initiative.

The initiative is expected to launch in the 2026-27 academic year, initially benefiting students from 13 colleges across the state. Third-year undergraduate students at these institutions will be eligible for internships and the associated stipend. The program will later expand to include additional colleges. Participating colleges include:


1. BN College (Patna University)


2. Magadh Mahila College (Patna University)


3. College of Commerce, Arts and Science (Patliputra University)


4. Ganga Devi Mahila College (Patliputra University)


5. JD Women's College (Patliputra University)


6. Bhagalpur National College (BN College): Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University (TMBU)


7. RN College, Hajipur (BR Ambedkar Bihar University)


8. RSS Science College, Sitamarhi (BR Ambedkar Bihar University)


9. LN Dubey College, Motihari (BR Ambedkar Bihar University)


The remaining colleges participating in the program will be announced by the respective universities.


Internships will be conducted on campus, allowing students to gain industry-relevant skills without needing to travel elsewhere.


The scheme aims to enhance the employability of third-year undergraduate students by providing them with internship opportunities directly at their colleges. Companies will come to the colleges to offer these internships, ensuring that students can develop skills aligned with industry needs. The undergraduate curriculum will be adjusted to include 75% theoretical education and 25% practical skill training. Completing an internship will also provide students with a certificate, making them more competitive in the job market.
