Young individuals in Bihar aspiring to become educators have received encouraging news. The state administration is fast-tracking the fourth phase of teacher recruitment (TRE 4). Education Minister Sunil Kumar has assured that the government is dedicated to filling vacant teaching roles in schools and educational institutions. This announcement has not only provided relief to general teacher candidates but has also sparked optimism for new roles for librarians and special education teachers. Accelerated TRE 4 Teacher Recruitment Process

During a recent press conference, Bihar's Education Minister Sunil Kumar revealed that the fourth phase of the teacher recruitment initiative is being expedited following the third phase. He mentioned that comprehensive details regarding vacant teaching positions across all government schools in the state are currently being compiled. This process is nearing completion, with the list of vacancies expected to be submitted to the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) by January 15, 2026.


Subsequently, the BPSC will publish an advertisement and officially commence the recruitment process. The government is committed to ensuring transparency in the recruitment process, allowing eligible candidates to seize opportunities promptly. This phase will encompass the hiring of not only general teachers but also other significant roles.


Plans for Librarians and Special Education Teachers

The Education Minister announced plans to recruit around 5,500 librarians to enhance school libraries. Additionally, approximately 7,000 special education teachers will be hired to improve educational services for children with disabilities. Requests for data on vacant teaching positions at the university level have also been made.


Potential Recruitment of 1,215 Teachers in Muzaffarpur District

Preparations for TRE 4 are also underway in Muzaffarpur district. According to the Education Department, there is a possibility of appointing 1,215 new teachers in the district. Data indicates that the highest demand is in secondary and higher secondary schools.


Specifically, 524 positions have been identified for higher secondary classes (grades 11-12), while 312 vacancies exist at the secondary level (grades 9-10). Furthermore, recruitment is proposed for 188 positions in middle schools (grades 6-8) and 191 positions in primary schools (grades 1-5).
