Overview of the AICTE Pragati Scholarship



The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has introduced the Pragati Scholarship Scheme aimed at supporting girls from underprivileged backgrounds pursuing technical education. This initiative is designed to facilitate higher education for female students while alleviating their financial burdens.


Application Timeline

The application period is open until 31 October 2025. Applicants must ensure that any errors in their submissions are corrected by 15 November 2025. Additionally, institutions are required to complete their verification processes by the same date, with final verification by DNO/SNO/MNO scheduled for 30 November 2025.


Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:


1. Must be a female student.


2. Should be enrolled in an AICTE/UGC/State-approved Technical Institute in India.


3. A maximum of two girls from the same family can apply.


4. The family's annual income must not exceed Rs 8 lakh.


5. A valid income certificate issued by the state or central government is required.


Scholarship Amount

Each eligible student will receive Rs 50,000 annually for their studies. First-year students can avail this amount for up to four years, while those entering in the second year through lateral entry can receive it for a maximum of three years.


This scholarship will cover college fees, computer purchases, stationery, books, equipment, and software. However, it does not extend to hostel or medical fees, and no documentation is needed for these expenses.


Tie-Breaking Procedure

In cases where candidates have identical marks in the qualifying examination, preference will be given to the student with the higher score in the 10th grade. If a tie persists, the older candidate will be prioritized.
