Black Cat crossing your path is a bad omen

Poor black cats! They are blamed just for being black. Cats have glowing eyes and scare the cows, horses and they belong to the family of Leopards and Jackals that may be the reason people consider these black cats scary. Nazar ka Tika

If you are going to perform some important work or entering a new house, or when you praise looks of a newly born child, you will see a black dot either on the forehead of the baby or at the back of  baby’s ear. This represents a sign of avoiding negative vibes from anyone over the newly born child. Also, a black ribbon is tied in the terrace of  house to avoid the negative vibes of other people over that newly constructed house.
