UP Board Exam 2026: The Uttar Pradesh Board is gearing up for the high school and intermediate examinations scheduled for 2026. To combat cheating, the Board is introducing innovative measures, including the use of artificial intelligence (AI) for monitoring exam activities.

AI Monitoring System

The examination centers will be equipped with CCTV cameras that are directly linked to AI technology. These advanced cameras will be overseen from a control room located at the Board's headquarters.

Coverage of Examination Centers

AI will monitor 7,000 centers.
This year, around 7,000 examination centers will be established for the UP Board exams. The integration of AI means that merely having cameras is insufficient; the AI will actively monitor the footage.

Real-Time Alerts

These sophisticated cameras will be monitored from a newly constructed control room at the Board headquarters. If any suspicious behavior occurs, such as students communicating or attempting to cheat, the AI will promptly alert the authorities.

Protection of Question Papers

Question papers will also be monitored at night.
The AI's role extends beyond the examination halls. It will also oversee the security of question papers during the night. The AI will track the opening and closing times of the strong room where the papers are stored. Any unauthorized access or tampering attempts will trigger an immediate alert.

Budget Allocation for AI Implementation

Government Releases a Budget of ₹25 Crore
Last year, the UP Board aimed to implement an AI monitoring system but faced technical challenges despite issuing three tenders. The state government has now allocated ₹25 crore to realize this initiative. This budget will also support the construction of a permanent, high-tech control room at the Board headquarters for statewide monitoring.
