JEE Main 2026 Application Process Set to Begin Soon

Important Update for JEE Main Aspirants



Students gearing up for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) 2026 should note that the National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced that the application process for the first session will commence in October 2025. A notification regarding this is anticipated to be released shortly.


Application Submission Details

The JEE Main application must be completed online through the NTA's official portal at jeemain.nta.nic.in. Applications submitted through any other method will not be accepted. It is essential to pay the required application fee, as submissions without payment will be rejected.


Registration Fees Breakdown

The registration fees are structured as follows:



  • Unreserved category candidates: ₹1,000

  • General, OBC, and General EWS candidates: ₹900

  • Female candidates from unreserved, General, OBC, and General EWS categories: ₹800

  • SC/ST/Transgender/PWD candidates: ₹500


Payments can be made online.


Eligibility Criteria for JEE Main

To qualify for the JEE Main exam, candidates must have completed their 12th grade with subjects including Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM). Students currently enrolled in the 12th grade are also eligible to apply. There is no age restriction for taking the exam.


NTA's Recommendations for Document Readiness

The NTA has urged students to ensure their documents are prepared and updated to prevent any issues during the registration process. The following updates are recommended:



  1. Aadhaar Card: Ensure it reflects the correct name, date of birth (matching the 10th-grade certificate), recent photo, address, and father's name.

  2. UDID Card (for Persons with Disabilities): This card should be valid and renewed as necessary.

  3. Category Certificate: Students from EWS/SC/ST/OBC-NCL categories should ensure their certificates are current and renewed.
