India signs 04 agreements with Cyprus

India and Cyprus signed four agreements including on air services and merchant shipping. This agreement was signed in the presence of Prime Minister of Indian Narendra Modi and Cypriot President Nicos Anastasiades. The main objective of these four agreements is to boost air services between India and Cyprus.

BSNL signs agreement to provide broadband services to Rural Post Offices

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) and Bharat Broadband Network Limited (BBNL) signed a tripartite agreement to provide broadband connectivity of BharatNet to post offices in rural areas. Approx 1.3 lakh post offices in rural areas and 25 thousand sub-post offices will be connected through broadband for high speed Internet connectivity.

Bhubaneswar becomes first Indian city to receive Pierre L’enfant Award 2017

Bhubaneswar, Capital of Odisha has become the first Indian city to win Pierre L’enfant Planning Excellence and Achievement Awards-2017 for good and advanced town planning and engaging its residents in the planning process.  This award will be given in the National Planning Conference in New York on 8th May by the American Planning Association.

Joshna Chinappa becomes first Indian to win Asian Squash Title

India’s Joshna Chinappa is the first Indian to win Asian Squash Title. She created history by winning this award.  She defeated her compatriot Dipika Pallikal Karthik by 13-15, 12-10, 11-13, 11-4, 11-4 in the women’s final. This tournament was held in Chennai.

Filmmaker and Director Jonathan Demme is no more now. He died due to cancer. He was the Oscar winner and was the last of the great journeyman directors. He was 73 years of age and was suffering from cancer.
