CBSE Class 12 Re-evaluation Process Begins: Key Details for Students
Significant Day for CBSE Class 12 Students
New Delhi: Today marks an important milestone for millions of Class 12 students under the CBSE board. The board has initiated the re-evaluation and verification process, allowing students to apply for a re-check of their answer sheets. Following the announcement of results, numerous students raised concerns regarding their scores.
According to the board, over 400,000 students have already applied for the re-evaluation of more than 1.1 million answer sheets. Additionally, controversies surrounding the on-screen marking system have heightened concerns among students and parents. However, the board has dismissed all allegations, asserting that the process is entirely secure.
Re-evaluation Process Commences Today
The re-evaluation process for CBSE Class 12 students officially starts today on the board's website, cbse.gov.in. Students wishing to apply for re-evaluation can do so through the official site.
How to Apply for Re-evaluation or Verification
Only those students who have requested photocopies of their answer sheets are eligible to apply for verification of errors found during the review and/or re-evaluation. Applicants must refer to the marking scheme for the relevant subject, which is available on the website alongside the question paper.
The status of the requests will be uploaded to the candidates' login details and will be accessible. A deduction of one mark will also be applicable.
The outcome of the re-evaluation will be final, and no appeals or reviews against it will be accepted. The marks awarded by the board will be conclusive and binding on the candidates.
CBSE OSM Discrepancy Controversy
In light of reports regarding irregularities in the Central Board of Secondary Education's (CBSE) on-screen marking (OSM) evaluation system, Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan stated, 'I take responsibility for these irregularities. These issues will be rectified, and appropriate measures will be taken. I assure students that no question will be left unanswered or unresolved.'
CBSE Denies Rumors
Meanwhile, CBSE has refuted rumors circulating on social media claiming that its on-screen marking (OSM) evaluation system has been hacked. The board clarified that these allegations are based on misinformation and are not related to the actual platform used for checking answer sheets. CBSE further explained that the genuine evaluation system operates on a separate secure URL, emphasizing that there has been no tampering with this official platform and no security breaches have been detected in the system used for checking answer sheets.
Efforts to Spread Confusion
The board added that the claims shared online seem to stem from confusion between the examination site and the live evaluation portal. It stressed that the examination site is distinct and not part of the operational framework used for the exams.
Reassuring students and stakeholders, CBSE stated that the OSM system was developed to enhance transparency in the evaluation process. It also noted that there are adequate grievance redressal mechanisms in place to ensure fairness.
