Eligibility Criteria for SSC Stenographer

Qualifications and Age Requirements:


Candidates must have completed their 12th-grade education or an equivalent qualification from a recognized board by August 1, 2026. For the Stenographer Grade 'D' position, candidates need to transcribe English in 50 minutes and Hindi in 65 minutes. For the Grade 'C' position, the requirements are 40 minutes for English and 45 minutes for Hindi.

Regarding age limits, candidates for Grade 'C' must be between 18 and 30 years old as of August 1, 2026, meaning they should be born between August 2, 1996, and August 1, 2008. For Grade 'D', the age range is 18 to 27 years. Age relaxations apply for various categories, including 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, and up to 15 years for PwD candidates.
