Upcoming Law Entrance Exams: Key Dates and Details for 2026
Overview of Law Entrance Exams
The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) for 2026 is scheduled for December 7th. This exam is crucial for gaining entry into 25 National Law Universities across India. Each year, around 60,000 to 75,000 candidates compete for just 5,790 available seats. The annual tuition fees for these programs range from ₹300,000 to ₹400,000. Consequently, many students also prepare for other exams like AILET and CUET. Notably, CLAT PG scores are recognized by various government organizations, including Coal India and Oil India, and are also utilized for the Judge Advocate General position in the Indian Army. The India International University of Legal Education and Research (IIULER) in Goa, established by the Bar Council of India Trust, also considers CLAT scores for admissions.

The AILET, organized by the National Law University in Delhi, will take place online on December 14th from 2 PM to 4 PM. This exam is for admission to BA LLB (Hons.), LLM, and PhD programs.
