The Junior Associate Preliminary Exam for SBI will take place on September 20, 21, and 27, 2025. The examination will be conducted in various languages across multiple centers in different states.

Exam Pattern

Structure of the SBI Clerk Preliminary Exam:


The exam will consist of 100 multiple-choice questions divided into three sections, with a total duration of 60 minutes. The breakdown is as follows:



  • 30 questions from the English Language

  • 35 questions from Numerical Abilities

  • 35 questions from Reasoning Ability


Candidates should be aware that there will be negative marking for incorrect answers, with a deduction of 1/4 marks for each wrong response. Therefore, it is advisable to avoid guessing if unsure of the correct answer.


Selection Process

Candidates who achieve the required cutoff marks in the preliminary exam will advance to the main exam. Following the mains, a local language test will be conducted as the final stage. Successful candidates will be appointed to fill a total of 5,180 regular clerk positions, including 810 backlog posts.
