Rajasthan Board Introduces Major Changes to Exam Structure for 2026

The Rajasthan Board is set to implement a new examination structure starting in 2026, inspired by the CBSE model. New Exam Format for Rajasthan Board

The Rajasthan Board has announced significant modifications to its examination system, taking inspiration from the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). As per the announcement made by Rajasthan's Education Minister Madan Dilawar on social media, the board exams will now occur twice a year starting from the 2026 academic session. The initial phase of these exams is scheduled for February-March and will be regarded as the primary examination. Following the release of results from this main exam, a second opportunity for re-examinations will be available in May-June.

Mandatory Participation in Main Exams

It is essential for all students to take part in the first phase of the examinations.

Guidelines for the Second Stage Exam

Students who successfully pass all subjects will have the option to retake exams to enhance their scores in up to three subjects.

Additionally, students who do not pass or require supplementary exams will also be allowed to retake the exam for three subjects.

Application of Best of 2 Principle

For students taking both exams, the best of the two scores will be considered final. If a student does not pass even after the second attempt, they will have the opportunity to sit for the main exam the following year.

Reducing Student Pressure

The Rajasthan Board and the government have labeled this decision as a groundbreaking move. Education Minister Madan Dilawar tweeted, "Starting from the next academic year, the Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education will conduct examinations twice annually. The first exam will be mandatory for all students, while those who pass and those needing supplementary exams will have a chance to improve their scores in a maximum of three subjects. Both exams will cover the entire syllabus, and the best scores will be used for the final results. This initiative aims to provide more opportunities for students, alleviate exam stress, and enhance overall performance."
