Exam Dates Released for Rajasthan Class 9 and 11

The Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE) has officially announced the examination dates for Class 9 and Class 11. This announcement aligns with the latest revisions made by the Directorate of Secondary Education. According to the updated schedule, the annual exams for RBSE Class 9 and 11 will take place from March 7 to March 19.

Changes in Exam Dates

There have been modifications to the exam dates for Class 5 and Class 8 as well. The Rajasthan Department of Primary Education has revised the annual examination timetable for these classes. The exams for Class 5 will be conducted between February 20 and March 6, with the mathematics exam now scheduled for March 6 from 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM. Meanwhile, Class 8 exams will occur from February 19 to March 4.

Elimination of Automatic Promotion System

Along with these changes, the board has abolished the automatic promotion system. Under the new regulations, students in Class 5 and Class 8 must achieve minimum passing marks to be promoted to the next grade. Those who do not meet the passing criteria will not advance. An official statement from the education department noted, 'The department believes that automatic promotion without passing exams was diminishing students' seriousness towards their studies, leading to difficulties in higher classes.'

Opportunity to Retake Exams

If a student fails to secure the minimum required marks, they will be given a chance to retake the exam within 45 days for improvement. The department stated, 'The implementation of this new system will enhance accountability among students, teachers, and parents. It is expected to improve the monitoring of studies and elevate the academic standards of children.'

Admit Card Distribution

Admit cards for the board exams will be distributed by the respective schools. Students are advised to stay in touch with their schools for updates related to the board examinations. It is also mandatory to carry a printed copy of the admit card and a valid identification document to the examination center.
