The new deadline for this update is July 14, having previously been set for July 7. This extension comes after the initial deadline passed without sufficient updates from candidates.

**Fee Refund Announcement Due to NEET UG Paper Leak**
The NEET UG 2026 examination took place on May 3. Following the release of the provisional answer key, a paper leak was discovered, prompting the Ministry of Education to cancel the exam. To address the inconvenience caused to candidates, the NTA announced a fee refund. The option for candidates to update their bank details became available on May 22.
**Steps to Update Bank Details for Refund**
To update bank details, candidates should:
1. Visit the official website: neet.nta.nic.in.
2. Log in using their credentials and complete the two-factor authentication.
3. Click on the 'Bank Account Details Confirmation/Updation' link.
4. A new page will appear; enter and update the bank account information carefully.
5. Candidates can also upload a cancelled cheque.
6. After entering all required information, click the submit button. Currently, over 1 million candidates have yet to update their details.
More than 2.2 million candidates participated in the NEET UG exam on May 3. The NTA has initiated a fee refund process for all candidates, starting from May 22. As of the latest update, around 800,000 candidates have successfully updated their bank details, leaving over 1 million still needing to do so before the July 14 deadline.
What are the NEET UG Registration Fees?
The NTA does not impose a fee for the NEET UG exam itself; however, a registration fee is collected during the application process. The registration fees are categorized as follows:
1. General candidates: ₹1,700
2. OBC and EWS candidates: ₹1,600
3. SC/ST candidates: ₹1,000
4. Foreign candidates: ₹9,500
