NEET UG 2026 Results Expected by July 20: Key Updates
Anticipation for NEET UG 2026 Results
Students and parents eagerly await the announcement of the NEET UG 2026 results. Following the examination, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has provided crucial updates regarding the results. The declaration of results will also initiate the admission process for medical colleges. The agency has assured that there will be no delays in the commencement of the new academic session for MBBS due to the re-examination. Currently, the process of result compilation is progressing swiftly.
Results Likely to be Released by July 20
The NTA has officially stated that the NEET UG 2026 results are expected to be released by July 20. However, a specific date has yet to be confirmed. According to media reports, the results may be announced even earlier than anticipated. The NTA has indicated that the result preparation is in its final stages.
Rapid Evaluation Process Underway
A senior official from the NTA informed a news agency that the evaluation process is being completed at an accelerated pace. Typically, it takes around 45 days to announce results for significant exams like NEET, but this time, the agency aims to release the results within a month following the re-exam held on June 21.
Review of 10,000 Objections
Before releasing the results, the NTA is reviewing all objections submitted. A provisional answer key was released on June 25, and candidates had until June 28 to raise objections. The agency has received approximately 10,000 objections, and the final answer key will be published only after examining the documents submitted with each objection.
MBBS Academic Session to Commence on Schedule
Following concerns about the impact of the paper leak controversy and the re-exam, students feared that the new academic session for medical colleges might be delayed. However, the NTA has clarified that the results and counseling processes will be completed as per the established timeline. The new academic session, set to begin in August or September, will proceed as planned.
Counseling Process Post-Results
Once the NEET UG results are announced, the Medical Counseling Committee will release the complete counseling schedule. This will include counseling for 15% of the All India quota, as well as for seats in AIIMS, JIPMER, and central universities. The remaining 85% of seats will be filled through counseling conducted by the respective state governments. Candidates will need to register online, pay fees, and indicate their college preferences before seats are allocated based on their ranks.
