NEET PG 2026: The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS), based in New Delhi, has officially opened the application process for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (Postgraduate) today. The official information bulletin has been released, indicating that the registration period will be from July 1 at 5 PM until July 21, 2026, at 11:55 PM. Eligible candidates can apply through the official website, natboard.edu.in.


Exam Schedule and Important Dates

The NEET PG examination is set for next month. The medical board has announced that candidates will receive advance notice regarding their exam city on August 11, 2026. New guidelines have also been issued, with all essential dates and regulations outlined below.


NEET PG Exam Date:
The NEET PG exam will be conducted as a Computer-Based Test (CBT) on August 30, 2026. Candidates will be informed about their exam city on August 11, 2026.


Result Declaration:
The results for NEET PG 2026 are expected to be announced by September 30, 2026.

Guidelines for Applicants

Read the Information Bulletin:
NBEMS urges all candidates to thoroughly review the 2026 information bulletin before submitting their applications. This bulletin will be available on the official website starting at 4 PM on July 1, 2026. Candidates are encouraged to apply early to avoid any last-minute technical difficulties.


Exam Center Allocation:
The board has clarified that the allocation of exam states, cities, and centers for NEET PG 2026 will not follow a 'first-come, first-served' policy. Early submission of applications will not provide any advantage in selecting a specific exam city or center. Candidates should focus on completing their application accurately rather than rushing.


Exam Fees and Eligibility Criteria

Exam Fees:
The fees for NEET PG 2026 are categorized as follows:

Eligibility Requirements:
Candidates must hold a recognized MBBS degree or a provisional MBBS pass certificate as per the NMC Act, 2019, and the Postgraduate Medical Education Regulations, 2023. Additionally, they must possess a permanent or provisional registration certificate for their MBBS qualification issued by the National Medical Commission (NMC) or a State Medical Council. Candidates must also have completed a one-year internship or be on track to complete it by September 30, 2026.


Changes in Exam Structure

Reduction in Questions:
The NBE has announced a reduction in the number of questions for the NEET PG exam from 200 to 180. The exam will take place nationwide in a single shift on August 30, from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM.


The examination will consist of 180 multiple-choice questions (MCQs), with four answer options provided in English for each question. Candidates will need to select the correct or most appropriate answer from the options given.
