Significant Updates from NCERT

The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has announced important updates regarding the curriculum and textbooks as part of the significant reforms in school education, in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Starting from the academic year 2027-28, new textbooks for Classes 10 and 11 will be introduced, while students will continue using the current textbooks throughout the 2026-27 academic year. The NCERT has emphasized that these modifications will be rolled out gradually.

Textbooks for Classes 1 to 8 have already been developed and are accessible in both print and digital formats. These materials are based on the National Curriculum Framework (NCF) 2023, aiming to enhance practical learning and focus on student engagement.

Additionally, the new syllabus for Class 9 is set to be implemented in the 2026-27 academic session. A draft of this syllabus has been shared, and feedback is being sought from educators and subject matter experts. The NCERT encourages schools and teachers to prepare for these forthcoming changes.
